The MomShift – Women Share Their Stories of Career Success After Having Children by Reva Seth

This is a great book for all moms who worry about how their career will be affected by having kids. There are some awesome stories that I really connected with (and some not so much) but it was very inspiring to read. Plus it made me feel better about myself to learn that there are plenty of other women just like me who are doing amazing things with their lives. This book is what motivated me to start this blog!

Money Rules by Gail Vaz-Oxlade

I really like this book and its easy to read format. I like how Gail  (the host of TV shows Til Debt Do Us Part and Princess) doesn’t mince words and just says it like it is. This book is very Canadian-centric though, so certain sections just won’t apply to you if you don’t live in Canada, but overall its a great book and a good, quick reference on specific topics.

Financially Fearless by Alexa Von Tobel

Alexa is the founder of Learnvest.com and the Learnvest program, which you can do online. While the program is free, its better for Americans. The book is USA centric too but there are some great tips in it that are easy to follow.

Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred

Ok, so this isn’t a book and its not related to personal finance – except that its a cheap way to get in shape! The DVD costs about $8 and all you need is a mat, some hand weights (I’d recommend 3lb or 5lb) and 20 minutes. At the beginning of 2015 I decided to challenge myself to complete the 30 Day Shred as a way to get  back into shape. I did each of the 3 levels for 10 days. Check out my results from Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3.
